Sherle

Who We Are

Engineering-First Chemical Process Consulting

Sherle is a chemical process engineering consultancy built to make high-quality, execution-ready engineering accessible to startups, SMEs, and established companies—regardless of project size or stage.

At our core, we are engineers. Our multidisciplinary team brings together process, mechanical, and electrical & instrumentation expertise, enabling us to deliver end-to-end engineering solutions under one roof—from early concept definition and scale-up studies to construction-ready Detailed Engineering.

We support projects across specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, bio-based processes, polymers, and emerging sustainable technologies.

Our Story

Sherle began as a small group of engineers helping clients navigate real-world challenges in process formulation, scale-up, and plant design. Working closely with innovators and manufacturers, we identified a clear industry gap: technically strong but practical, affordable, and flexible engineering support, especially for early-stage companies and growing businesses.

That insight continues to shape how we operate today.

We understand that the chemical industry can feel complex and intimidating. Regulations, safety requirements, operability issues, and scale-up uncertainty often slow down good ideas. At Sherle, we believe these challenges should be engineered through, not avoided.

An Engineering-First Consultancy - Not a Traditional EPC

Sherle is not a traditional EPC contractor.

We are intentionally structured as a lean, engineering-focused consultancy, concentrating on process understanding, design quality, and technical clarity rather than construction-driven execution.

By operating with a flexible, expert-led model and collaborating with a globally distributed pool of specialized engineers, we assemble the right expertise for each project without the heavy overheads typical of EPC organizations. This allows us to deliver code-compliant, high-quality engineering in a cost-efficient and scalable manner.

Our clients invest in engineering judgment, process insight, and execution-ready design, not unnecessary bureaucracy.

Structured. Transparent. Engineering-First.

Great engineering is built on clarity, structure, and collaboration. Our consulting model is designed to reduce technical risk early, improve decision-making, and ensure that every engineering deliverable directly supports real-world execution.

Unlike EPC-driven models, we focus purely on engineering excellence, allowing us to remain flexible, efficient, and aligned with our clients’ technical and commercial objectives.

A Phased, De-Risked Engineering Approach

We follow a stage-wise workflow that mirrors the natural evolution of a chemical process:

Concept → Basic Engineering Package (BEP) → Detailed Engineering (DED)
with procurement, erection, and commissioning support as required.

Each phase builds logically on the previous one, ensuring that key decisions are validated early and late-stage surprises are minimized.

Start Small. Validate Early. Scale Confidently.

Early engineering decisions have the highest impact on safety, cost, and operability. That’s why we emphasize:

  • strong conceptual design
  • simulation-driven BEP development
  • early identification of scale-up and operability risks

For startups, this means lower upfront risk, flexibility to pivot, and clear go/no-go decision points.

For established companies, it ensures disciplined engineering governance and consistency across projects.

Right-Sized Engineering for Every Project

Not every project requires the same depth of engineering.

A pilot plant, a first-of-a-kind (FOAK) process, and a large commercial facility each demand a different approach. We tailor our scope, level of detail, and documentation maturity based on:

  • project stage
  • technology readiness
  • regulatory requirements
  • client team structure

This right-sized engineering philosophy ensures efficiency without compromising safety or quality.

Independent, Objective Engineering

Because Sherle is not tied to construction margins or equipment sales, our recommendations remain technically objective.

Every decision is guided by:

  • process performance
  • safety and operability
  • lifecycle cost
  • maintainability

This independence allows us to act as a true engineering partner, not a vendor pushing downstream execution.

Collaboration, Not Black-Box Engineering

We work closely with our clients’ R&D, operations, and management teams. Assumptions are discussed openly, risks are highlighted early, and design intent is clearly documented.

Our goal is not just to deliver drawings but to ensure our clients understand and trust the engineering behind them.

Execution Support - Without Execution Risk

While our core delivery extends through Detailed Engineering, we remain technically involved during execution through:

  • procurement and vendor technical support
  • vendor document reviews
  • FAT and SAT witnessing
  • commissioning and startup advisory

This ensures continuity of design intent without exposing clients or ourselves to unnecessary execution risk.
